Provision of Manned Security

Tender description

The Council have an ongoing requirement to provide security services in many of their properties across the Council. Therefore a contractor requires to be appointed to provide those services from suitably qualified and trained personnel who will provide a high-quality security service 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Call off by direct award from the Scotland Excel Security Services and Cash Collection Framework, Lot 1. The Framework allows for call off by direct award or mini competition. Recognising the needs of individual Councils, the tender document and subsequent Framework are not prescriptive in their definition of the approach to be taken by Councils. As a result, participants are able to determine the best approach for their own Council under the particular circumstances of the purchase(s) to be made. Within the Framework users can select which contractor to order from, based on an assessment of the particular needs. Due to the delay in the procurement of a new framework due to unforeseen circumstances, the Council have awarded a call off by direct award to the incumbent supplier to ensure continuity of essential services for a further 6 months with an optional extension of up to 6 months for contingency. This will allow for the procurement of a call off contract by conducting a mini competition from Lot 1 of the above Framework to obtain a longer-term compliant contract.
