Tender description
To attend this event, please email skillsforgrowth@greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk for the link to join. Last Friday (4 March), we launched two brand new Skills for Growth commissions via GMCA’s Education, Work & Skills Flexible Procurement System in sales, marketing and business development and project management. This Friday (11 March), a further two opportunities in logistics and HR will go live on the Chest. In order to make the most of your time and resources, we're going to host several market engagement sessions over the coming weeks. The first session will cover the below four commissions and will take place on 15 March 2022 via Microsoft Teams between 10.30am and 12pm. Please note these opportunities will be advertised to eligible lead providers via the Flexible Purchasing System, but all providers are invited to the market engagement events and can form part of supply chains. To attend, please email skillsforgrowth@greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk. Sales, marketing and business development - minimum 1,000 individuals (£500,000) Training in this space needs to be quick, flexible and responsive to business needs, rather than long and prescriptive. Employers have indicated they would like employers to choose elements of sales, marketing and business development that will support them in their specific roles in order to prepare them for career progression, increase knowledge and to prepare people for higher level learning. Consultation with businesses highlighted a need for upskill in these areas to rebuild customer bases as a result of Covid-19 impacts. Project management for non-project managers - minimum 750 individuals (£500,000) Did you know that the number of job ads listing project management skills has nearly doubled since 2019? Hybrid and home working has impacted collaboration and project working. As a result, businesses are keen for individuals who do not currently work in project management (but may undertake some project management tasks) to learn techniques for their day-to-day work. Logistics - minimum 1,200 individuals (£1m) In a post-Brexit world, logistics businesses face new challenges around the rules of import and export. Soft skills also continue to be a common theme for development in the sector in order to improve efficiency and cohesion at all organisational levels. Employer engagement tells us that these skills shortages could be resolved with bespoke training, particularly across warehousing, transport and post-Brexit rules of origin. HR and Recruitment - minimum 1,000 individuals (£500,000) The value and minimum completion figure for this commission are still under discussion but will be confirmed ahead of the event. Employers across a range of sectors have identified a need for upskilling people with specific HR and recruitment skills, in particular where individuals are not currently considered a HR professional. Training around drafting job descriptions, attracting diverse talent pipelines, managing teams, understanding HR policies and managing resources have been cited as valuable areas to focus on.
