Tender description

The Reading Heroes Project has previously been fully funded by Children in Need. The project has had a significant and positive impact on our reading outcomes for our children in care. No other provider offers this service. The Reader will match volunteers to read 1-2-1 with children/young people who have a care order virtually or over Zoom, within school or in their home. They will read for up to 26 sessions over a period of 6-9 months. The Reader will facilitate the introduction of volunteers to the young people, ensuring all volunteers receive appropriate DBS clearance and safeguarding training. Virtual School Liverpool would support and facilitate the work, and refer appropriate young people into the project. This will further support improving educational outcomes for our children in care and CoVid Catch up. The project will be targeted at 30 young people between 6 and 15 years old. (cost £1,147.66 per child- very cost effective)
