Lot 1: The trust awarded a contract in 2020 to Horticon Ltd for initial phases of development of a public park which include site enabling works that include remediation of the site, planting and preparation of base courses for the park network. These phases are nearing completion. The trust would like to award the final phase to Horticon which will start this summer 2022 with a target completion date of August 2023. Awarding the final phase of the contract to Horticon would provide additional continuity for the Trust and has a strategic fit to the Trust’s ambition to meet our legal obligations to complete the development of the park as part of a land exchange agreement with Liverpool City Council. Horticon have completed extensive enabling works that will allow for a quicker commencement of the next phase as they have a deep understanding of the constraints and interdependencies of projects across the wider estate. An earlier start will mean the park could be completed earlier which will a benefit for the wider community.
