Assessment of Circular Future for Batteries in Scotland

Tender description

This was a single stage ("Open") procurement procedure for the provision of technical support to undertake research into the practical actions required to support the establishment of a circular economy for batteries in Scotland. Zero Waste Scotland required the services of a suitably skilled and experienced Supplier for the provision of technical support to undertake research into the practical actions required to support the establishment of a circular economy for batteries in Scotland. The Project is required to: - undertake an evaluation of the anticipated battery demand as a result of Scotland’s net zero targets and how this relates to the availability of raw materials and recycled feedstock, as well as their applicability to future transport battery requirements – for example, from lithium-ion to solid-state batteries, etc. - identify the infrastructure needs and legislative environment required to support the transition to a circular economy for batteries in Scotland, including consideration of the potential scale of battery manufacturing and recycling The Project will culminate with the completion of a report detailing the findings from all stages of Project delivery.
