Tender description

The State Laboratory requires information from the market to enable further knowledge regarding market capabilities on the upcoming purchase of an ICPOES for routine analysis of Animal Feedingstuffs (Feed Materials, Compound Feeds, Complimentary Feeds, Additives, Premixes and Mineral Mixes), Fertilisers (Organic and Inorganic) and Liming materials for Macro, Trace and Undesirable Elements. The Education Procurement Service (EPS) on behalf of the State Laboratory (the “Contracting Authority”) invites responses to this request for information (“RFI”) from economic operators (“Tenderers”) for the supply of the goods as described below; Desired Requirements • The ICPOES should have the capacity to analyse Animal Feedingstuffs for the elements Ca, Co, Cu, Fe, Mg, Mn, Na, P and Zn following digestion in acid and have the capability to analyse for other elements, as may be required under Irish and European legislation. • The ICPOES should have the capacity to analyse Fertilisers for the elements As, Ca, Cd, Hg, K, Mg, Mn, Na, P, Pb and S following acidic digestion/water soluble/acidic extraction and have the capability to analyse for other elements as may be required under Irish and European legislation. • The ICPOES should have the capacity to analyse liming materials for the elements Ca and Mg following acidic digestion/water soluble/acidic extraction and have the capability to analyse for other elements as may be required under Irish and European legislation. • The ICPOES should allow rapid and efficient analysis within the shortest time possible in both axial and radial modes. • The system Software must be comprehensive, reliable and have the ability to process a large number of samples with a high throughput and to have awareness of potential interferences. It should be possible to develop methods for new elements.
