Library construction work

Tender description

The overall project will comprise construction of a new County Library on a brownfield site. A previous contractor had commenced works, including piling, substructure and site works. The contractor's obligations under the previous contract have now been terminated. Under this proposed new contract, the contractor will be responsible for the complete construction works for the project. Under this proposed new contract, the contractor will be responsible for the complete construction works for the project. The proposed project,when completed, will be attached to the existing Glór Theatre and consequently there will be significant works required at the interface of the two buildings including some demolition work. Applicants should note that the Works will be carried out in a live environment and safe access to and full use of the Glór Theatre will be required for the duration of the works. The new building, measuring circa 2 320 m2, will be over ground, first and second floors, will be designed and constructed to a target BER level 3 and in accordance with Part L NZEB guidelines. The works will also include road realignment and associated hard and landscaping works as well as site services diversions and other site development works.
