Tender description
Mae Cyngor Sir Sir y Fflint yn awdurdod lleol yng Ngogledd Ddwyrain Cymru. Rydym yn newid ein dull o reoli glaswelltir ac yn symud i ffwrdd o dorri gwair yn aml mewn rhai ardaloedd, i greu dolydd blodau gwyllt o fewn y parth cyhoeddus. Nod hyn yw cynyddu bioamrywiaeth yn unol â'n cynllun adran 6 ar gyfer bioamrywiaeth. Mae'r offer a ddefnyddir ar hyn o bryd gan ein hadran Streetscene wedi'i gynllunio i dorri a chynnal glaswellt byr, ac nid oes ganddo ymarferoldeb casglu, gan nad oes angen hyn pan fydd glaswelltiroedd yn cael eu torri'n rheolaidd. Mae rheoli dolydd blodau gwyllt yn ei gwneud yn ofynnol na fydd torri gwair rhwng Mawrth ac Awst bob blwyddyn, gan roi digon o amser i flodau gwyllt dyfu, blodeuo a hadu hadau. Mae rheoli dolydd blodau gwyllt hefyd yn gofyn am gael gwared â thoriadau i leihau maetholion y pridd ac atal eginblanhigion newydd rhag cael eu mygu. Mae hyn yn arwain at dywarchen laswelltir tal a llawer iawn o doriadau. Mae angen offer arnom a all gyflawni'r dasg hon. Flintshire County Council is a local authority in the North East of Wales. We are changing our approach to grassland management and are moving away from frequent mowing in some areas, to create wildflower meadows within the public realm. The aim of this is to increase biodiversity in line with our section 6 plan for biodiversity. The equipment currently used by our Streetscene department is designed to cut and maintain short grass swards, and does not have collection functionality, as this is not required when grasslands are cut regularly. Wildflower meadow management requires there to be no grass cutting between March and August each year, giving wildflowers enough time to grow, flower, and set seed. Wildflower meadow management also requires the removal of cuttings to reduce soil nutrients and prevent new seedlings from being smothered. This results in a tall grassland sward and large amounts of cuttings. We need equipment which can fulfil this task.
