Covid-19 Clinton Road - Supported Housing Provision for Single People

There are currently 560 households in emergency and temporary accommodation as of April 2020, Two thirds of these are single people. Many single people who experience homelessness have additional support needs, which are currently not met through the hotel and B&B style accommodation they are placed in. Home Group have offered the Council a 5-bedroom property at Clinton Road, Redruth. It is intended to operate this as a 4-bedroom (the 5th bedroom is an attic room with a steep narrow staircase so is not suitable) supported housing provision for single people experiencing homelessness. The provision would provide 20 hours a week of housing support and would have a concierge provision 24/7. Home Group are willing to enter into a 12-month lease and housing management and support would be delivered by Cornwall Housing Ltd.
