Mass Testing with Lateral Flow Antigen Testing Devices - Pharmacy Spokes

The nature of this pandemic and the pace of the interventions required has led the Council to develop a hub and spoke model across Birmingham for delivery of rapid result testing in a targeted and scaled way to contain the spread of the virus and reduce transmission in higher risk population groups. The aim of this critical service is to capture data about levels of asymptomatic infection in target areas of Birmingham to reduce infection rates and particularly avoid further spread to vulnerable citizens who may develop a serious infection. This contract will specifically enable eligible residents to access testing locally through GP Practices. Lot 1: To appoint a contractor to engage and onboard pharmacies across Birmingham to provide lateral flow device testing services. The main cost of the contract is the pharmacies providing the testing services on an agreed cost per test.
