Tender description

The NHS Commissioning Board operating as NHS England, is looking to engage with the market to support the development of a future procurement process for additional adult eating disorder beds for adults in the East Midlands. Therefore, potential bidders interested in this opportunity are invited to take part in an event on Thursday 4th March 2021 from 9am. The purpose of the event is to provide information and overview of the development of the procurement strategy. The commissioner is inviting potential bidders to attend in order to find out the objectives of a future procurement exercise and to book 1-2-1 slots for the chance to ask questions and potentially help the commissioner develop the service. To book onto this event, potential bidders must register on the EU Supply portal (https://uk.eusupply.com/login.asp?B=AGCSU&target=&timeout= ) by no later than Wednesday 3rd March 2021 at 4pm. Lot 1: The East Midlands currently has one 15 bedded inpatient unit that caters for adults requiring an inpatient admission for Eating Disorders which is Langley Ward at The Bennion Centre, Glenfield Hospital in Leicester. This is not enough capacity to meet the needs of local patients as there has been an increase in Adult Eating Disorder admissions from an average of 20 in 18-19 to 25 in 19-20 to 30 a month 7 2020-21. Any inpatient beds required over and above 15 are currently commissioned out of area. This can mean some patients are placed a considerable distance from home and leads to delays in admission and longer lengths of stay. The current arrangements present particular difficulties for patients considered to be complex/those with co-morbidities. A bespoke procurement exercise will be used to identify a suitable provider for this service. More information about this procurement exercise will be provided atthe market engagement event on Thursday 4th March 2021 from 9.00 am. Providers who are interested in this opportunity will also have the option to discuss the procurement on a 1-2-1 basis with the commissioning team and procurement leads either on Thursday 4th March 2021 in the afternoon (1pm-4pm) or Friday 5th March 2021 (9am-5pm). Potential bidders will need to complete the online questionnaire on the EU Supply portal that is connected to this exercise in order to express an interest in this opportunity, as well as securing a place at the market engagement event and/or the 1-2-1 meetings. Individual meeting times will be allocated on a first come basis. The market engagement questionnaire is accessible through the below link: https://uk.eusupply.com/login.asp?B=AGCSU&target=&timeout= Please note the deadline for responses will be 4pm Wednesday 3rd March 2021.
