Tender description

The National Fire Chiefs Council - Community Risk Programme is a national project which is seeking to achieve standardisation in the way UK Fire and Rescues Services (UKFRS's) manage their Community Risk Management Planning (CRMP) processes.

More information regarding the project can be found by clicking on the following link; https://www.nationalfirechiefs.org.uk/CRP

A key element of the project is developing relevant guidance to help support FRS's in this process. An essential component of the guidance required focuses on the subject of evaluation. This relates to not only evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of the CRMP process but also the impact risk management decisions taken have had on the organisation. Specific guidance is being produced by other projects within the CRP that will focus on evaluating specific FRS related activity, however what we need is more generic guidance regarding evaluation that focuses on areas such as;

Up to date methodologies and techniques for conducting effective evaluation of organisational processes and decision making.

What is current good practice.

Potential pitfalls and mistakes to avoid when carrying out evaluation.

How to manage and action the results from evaluation processes.

The guidance produced will be hosted on the UKFRS Website; https://www.ukfrs.com/cpo-homepage.

It should be noted that the guidance required needs to maintain a sufficient level of detail to guide and advise UKFRS's effectively but not be excessive in its content as it needs to fit into a suite containing another seven pieces of linked CRMP Guidance.

We are undertaking some preliminary market engagement to identify potential suppliers that would have the capability and capacity to help us to deliver this project and to further inform the development of the scope and specification of the services required. The opportunity will then be advertised via the Kent Business Portal for tender. If you are interested in this opportunity and would like to be involved in the initial engagement activity, please express your interest via the portal and we will arrange next steps in terms of introductory meetings/information sharing etc.
Keywords: Risk, Evaluation, Fire, Planning
