A Community Energy Mentor to identify and build strong, effective, resilient and inclusive Sustainable Energy Communities (SECs)

Tender description

Ballyhoura Development CLG is the Regional Coordinator of the SEAI Sustainable Energy Communities (SEC) Programme in the Mid-West and South-West. The SEC Programme supports the energy transition by developing skills and capacity, at a community level, in electing how to use less energy, adopting lower carbon options for transport and heating, shifting energy use to off-peak times or investing in smart technologies. By working together, the SEC Network members seek to maximise opportunities for successful collaboration and achieve economies of scale in leading community energy initiatives. The SEC Programme is delivered by a Community Energy Mentor Panel, who collectively support over 130 SECs to devise and implement community energy plans. Ballyhoura Development invites responses to this RFT from economic operators (Tenderers) for the provision of mentoring, capacity-building, facilitation and technical supports, for communities in Co Kerry, mainly those in South Co Kerry. The primary objective is to increase engagement of communities in the SEC Programme, and to support them to progress community energy initiatives through an inclusive process of engagement and mentoring.
