Tender description

The Childcare Development and Sustainability Service aims to improve outcomes for families, children and young people through access to high quality, sustainable and affordable childcare provision, and through supporting the council to meet its statutory duty to secure sufficient childcare for working parents. These are achieved through the following key priorities: • Development of new childcare provision • Sustainability of childcare provision • Quality improvement of childcare provision The Council wishes to test the level of market interest in such a service before commencing any procurement process. The proposed contract period will be for two years (an initial one year duration with the option for a further one year extension). It is anticipated that the contract will begin on 1st January 2022, with a proposed maximum contract value of £610,000 (£305,000 per year). The level of interest shown in this opportunity will inform consideration of possible procurement routes for this service. Should the service be procured through a tender process, this would likely be launched in July 2021. The service set out in the draft commissioning strategy may be subject to change pending the result of this pre-market engagement notice and wider consultations.
