UCD wishes to procure an Electrospinning / Electrospraying unit

Tender description

This project focuses on the development of advanced biomaterials that will imitate the hierarchical organisation of native tissues and have the capacity to be loaded with bioactive / therapeutic molecules. Among the various fabrication technologies, electrospinning is the preferred method, as it (a) can fabricate devices with a diverse range of architectures; (b) has fidelity down to the nm level and (c), through appropriate modifications (e.g. electro spraying, co/tri-axial electrospinning), can produce functionalised implantable devices. The tenderer will provide us with an electrospinning / electrospraying system that will have the capacity to produce a diverse range of implantable devices.
