The Supply of General Consumables to the UK MOD

Babcock Land Defence Limited, acting as agent to the Authority, is in the early stages of an initiative to better understand the supplier market in the UK and its capabilities for several sub-categories of general consumables and spares across multiple military platforms. These categories are designed to be market facing to allow for simplified contracts and may refer to parts that need to be manufactured to requirements according to drawings and material standards. The total annual spend across these top 10 categories is approximately GBP 17 million per year. Babcock Land Defence Limited believes there is significant value for each supplier to either expand their current business or gain new business. This initiative is driven by Babcock Land Defence Limited with the intention of developing a lotting structure that suits the market and enables competition. This RFI is issued prior to the commencement of a formal competitive process and seeks to review capabilities of suppliers in order to inform Babcock Land Defence Limited's procurement strategy.
