<p>1.1 The Council is requesting quotations for the provision of social support services intended to support adults (18+) in Bracknell Forest who are visually impaired, blind or deafblind. 1.2 The objective will be to appoint a Service Provider following this exercise to supply the Service set out in this Specification. 1.3 The scope of the social support services will be: &bull; Provision of information, advice and guidance (IAG) for those with visual impairments relating to day-to-day tasks and activities &bull; A one-to-one support service to help people connect to the wider offer and support services on the area &bull; A calendar of social activities tailored to those with a visual or dual sensory impairment. This should include a cross section of different options to appeal to people of different ages and interests, such as sports, arts and crafts, cultural events etc. 1.4 The purpose of the service is to provide people with a good quality of life. People are supported to lead independent, fulfilling lives that they feel they have control over. It involves putting people at the centre of decisions about the support they receive. Services are provided in such a way that people feel involved, secure and confident in the service provided to them. The service should focus on maintaining individuals&rsquo; dignity, privacy and freedom of choice.</p> Keywords: Sensory Needs
