Scottish Trunk Road Network South West - Monklands Canal Flowmeter Works

Tender description

Amey is seeking to appoint suitably qualified and experienced sub-contractors to provide flowmeter installation proposals on the Monklands Canal Pipeline. The Monklands Canal Pipeline consists of 12.5km of dual piping from Cuilhill, on the outskirts of Coatbridge, approximately following the line of the old Monklands Canal and adjacent to the line of the M8 Motorway, to the Pinkston Basin just outside Glasgow City Centre. Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are reviewing proposals for the installation of flowmeters/telemetry equipment on the pipelines to help identify any future ‘low flow’ events as early as possible. Proposed works will include feasibility reviews considering various options and proposal of preferred solution and design/tender preparation for selected system.
