Provision of Consultancy Services for the Provision of One New Tug for Orkney Harbour Authority

Orkney Islands Council as a Statutory Harbour Authority (SHA) wishes to engage a suitably qualified and experienced Company, or consortium (with one part defined as lead) to provide consultancy services for the provision of the design and build of one new tug for the Orkney Harbour Authority. The requirement is for the Contractor to lead the provision of these services and including access to the services of a fully qualified Naval Architect, to meet the requirements as detailed in this service specification. Orkney Islands Council as a Statutory Harbour Authority (SHA) wishes to engage a suitably qualified and experienced Company, or consortium (with one part defined as lead) to provide consultancy services for the provision of of the design and build of one new tug for the Orkney Harbour Authority. The requirement is for the Contractor to lead the provision of these services including access to the services of a fully qualified Naval Architect, to meet the requirements as detailed in this service specification. In 2020 the SHA took delivery of two new 32m 78TBP vessels following award of a successful design and build contract with a shipyard in Turkey. This was undertaken with the assistance and input at all stages from a suitably qualified and experienced Contractor, similar to the details contained within this specification and invitation to quote documentation. In general, the vessel to be commissioned will be an approximate 32m length overall (LOA) harbour tug, with indirect towing capability, built to an ICAS class, registered in the UK and delivered to Orkney.
