<p>Public Health Dorset, on behalf of the Dorset Strategic Alliance, has worked with colleagues from across the system, to develop an initial business case, to develop a project which will deliver a holistic programme for vulnerable women, and their partners (where appropriate), who have experienced, or at risk of, repeat removals of children from their care. Pause is a charitable company, which founded a nationally evaluated programme working with women who have experienced, or are at risk of, repeated pregnancies that result in children needing to be removed from their care. The membership programme aims to give women the opportunity to pause and take control of their lives breaking a destructive cycle that causes both them and their children deep trauma. Nationally there are 28 Pause practices working with local partnerships to deliver an 18-month model programme of holistic support. Dorset Council on behalf of Public Health Dorset wishes to commission a delivery partner to set-up a Pause Practice that will deliver the Pause Programme for Dorset Council residents. The service will offer long-term intensive support to an eligible community of women experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, recurrent care proceedings. The initial contract period is for two years with one optional extension of 24 months and a further optional extension of 12 months.</p> Keywords: Vulnerable women, Risk of care proceedings, Children in care
