Kennelling of Stray Dogs

Hartlepool Borough Council, is seeking to appoint a suitable qualified, equipped and experienced service provider for the provision of kennelling facilities for the Councils dog warden service. This Contract will comprise of: 1. The kennelling of stray dogs and dangerous dogs, as classified under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. 2. The receipt of stray dogs and dangerous dogs brought to the kennels/acceptance point by council officers, members of the public or the police 3. Return of stray dogs to rightful owner In additional to the provision of the above services the following may also be required; 1. Collection of stray dogs 2. Dog Chipping 3. Activities which may be required to promote responsible dog ownership and the re-homing of strays An established working relationship with East Durham Animal Ambulance, or a willingness to develop such a relationship
