Facilitator for Wokingham Borough Council's Community Deliberative Process on the Climate Emergency

<p>Wokingham Borough Council is seeking a team of independent facilitators with expertise in community engagement, social research and climate change to host an innovative community deliberative process on the climate emergency agenda. The project will be publicly known as 'Let's Talk Climate'. The aim of this process is to engage directly with representatives of the community and gain further insights into the motivations and barriers faced on the ground when making daily decisions that impact our carbon footprints. The main outcome of the process will be a set of recommendations by the participants which the council will assess for viability before incorporating these into the climate emergency action plan. The facilitators will host one of the key aspects of this engagement project: the deliberative peer groups. These groups will bring together certain stakeholders and allow greater collaboration and discussion. Each group will meet twice to allow for enough time to understand the issues and form recommendations. The facilitators will bring all recommendations together in a report so these can be put to a wider-reaching e-panel for input before they are presented to the council.</p> Keywords: community engagement, engagement, community deliberative process, citizens' assembly, climate emergency, climate change
