Tender description
The Giant Redwood Avenue is over 150 years old and is an iconic feature of the Benmore landscape. It has recently undergone a programme of one meter squared centred Geo Injection. This has been done to reduction of soil compaction and stimulation of root growth through the improvement of soil structure and aeration. at one-meter centres. The grass area up the centre of the Giant Redwood Avenue now requires a gravel raft and rootzone application followed by grass seeding. The purpose of this is to enable free drainage, but also create a suitable grass area up the centre section of the avenue, in order visitors can walk on the grass areas without causing compaction problems. The grass area which requires the work to be carried out on is estimated to be 255 linear meters by 4.5 meters wide, giving an area of 1,148 square meters. Benmore Botanic Garden is looking to have the following work carried out on the Giant Redwood Avenue by 31st March 2022. The expect work based upon current requirements is as follows Giant Redwood Avenue Raft Specification The Grass / Turf Area = 255 linear meters x 4.5m = 1,148 M2 Materials required to carry out the works are to supply and spread:- 10mm clean Crushed Rock, 100 mm depth = 115 cubic meters 8 mm to 2 mm clean blinding layer, 50 mm depth = 58 cubic meters Rootzone RZ 3 or RZ-USGA growing medium, 100 mm depth = 115 cubic meters All applications graded level Apply Pre seed fertiliser at the appropriate rate Apply shade tolerant grass seed at the appropriate rate.
