Tender description
Wakefield Council has a statutory duty to make services available to meet the assessed needs of both children with disabilities and their parents and carers. Therefore the Council is seeking providers to deliver short breaks, personal care and practical support to children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities in the Wakefield District. The services required under this procurement fall within schedule 3 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (SI 2015/102) and are therefore not bound by all of its requirements. The Council will follow its own modified version of the Dynamic Purchasing System process prescribed under regulation 34 for setting up and running this short breaks pseudo Dynamic Purchasing System. The PDSP with have 5 Categories. Tenderers can bid for all or any individual service. Please see tender documentation for further detail. The service will provide group-based social, sport and leisure activities during school holidays to children and young people with SEND. This can include the three half term holidays and the Easter and summer holidays. Providers will be advised of the level of support required for each individual, based on assessed needs.
