CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR BIODIVERSITY PROJECTS

Radius Housing Growing Wild Biodiversity Project has two independent elements which run in tandem with schools and local communities throughout 2021. The projects seek to educate and inspire our communities about the importance of biodiversity and provide both the resources and training to support this. This programme is funded through the Department for Communities ‘Housing for All’ Shared Housing Programme which has its origins in the NI Executive Together Building United Communities Strategy. The Schools Biodiversity Project will run out in 16 schools in 8 Radius T:buc / Housing for All areas. Schools will be located in: Belfast, Coleraine, Portstewart, Derry, Cookstown, Dungannon, Omagh and Newry. The project will see the establishment of a biodiversity garden in each school along with training and support to ensure the long term sustainment of these projects. We will work on a cross-community partnership with schools in our 8 Housing for All areas, developing friendships and mutual understanding through this biodiversity project. We will also deliver a Community Biodiversity Project to run out over x50 communities / schemes. The Community Biodiversity Project will see the implementation of 50 biodiversity gardens with training and support to ensure the future sustainability of these projects. Radius are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced partner to deliver on the training and support elements of these projects as well as the installation of the growing elements for the Schools biodiversity gardens. The initial appointment will be for twelve months with radius reserving the option to award two further extensions of 12 months each (1+1+1). Due to the on-going pandemic it is anticipated that much of the planning, collaboration and delivery will take place in “virtual” spaces and that the successful consultant should consider all the implications of this approach when submitting their bid.
