The Medway Assessment and Support Service

Tender description

Medway Council wants a Medway Assessment and Support service to provide an intensive assessment service with available temporary accommodation with basic provision for people in Medway who have multiple and/or complex needs and/or who are experiencing rough sleeping. The service will need to provide targeted support to assess people with multiple and/or complex needs and/or who are experiencing rough sleeping for a period of 72 hours up to 1 week. There will be an accommodation options for up to 11 people for those being assessed and for people who may be identified as requiring longer engagement/assessment/support. The overall aim is to impact positively on the number of rough sleepers on the streets of Medway who are not able to make use of widely available routes into accommodation, and who have not been able to access the traditional routes into supported accommodation. The service must therefore include methods of engaging people who may be reluctant to accept help in getting to a single service offer within 1 to 2 weeks, unless identified as suitable for stay in the accommodation longer term. This will require very robust engagement strategies from the provider, who will need to work in close partnership with other statutory and voluntary agencies as applicable.
