Dumfries and Galloway Council are seeking to work with 2 organisations across the region to support the employment of a person with lived experience of the justice system. Within this project, the individuals would be required to develop peer support groups for others with experience of justice services. Lot 1: Supporting Peer Employment - East of Dumfries and Galloway Dumfries and Galloway Council's Community Justice Partnership are seeking to work with an organisation in the East of the Region to employ an individual with lived experience of the justice system to develop peer support groups for others within the justice services. The approach aims are to: - Gain a better understanding of the demographic of the local justice cohort and those at risk of entering the justice system in Dumfries and Galloway. - Gain a better understanding of the needs of the local justice cohort and those at risk of entering the justice system in Dumfries and Galloway. - To identify from this to what extent the needs of individuals and their families are met within local service provision. - To enable and empower the voices of those with lived experience to be heard and shape future service provision. Lot 2: Supporting Peer Employment - West of Dumfries and Galloway Dumfries and Galloway Council's Community Justice Partnership are seeking to work with an organisation in the West of the region with lived experience of the justice system to develop peer support groups for others with experience of justice services. Using this approach, we hope to: - Gain a better understanding of the demographic of the local justice cohort and those at risk of entering the justice system in Dumfries and Galloway. - Gain a better understanding of the needs of the local justice cohort and those at risk of entering the justice system in Dumfries and Galloway. - To identify from this to what extent the needs of individuals and their families are met within local service provision. - To enable and empower the voices of those with lived experience to be heard and shape future service provision.
