Survey, Testing & Repairs of Fire Dampers at various properties, University of Dundee. Survey: The Contractor is expected to survey all ventilation systems in the list of buildings provided above to identify the location of all fire dampers. The survey should gather all the information required to create the asset list and schematic drawings. Asset list/drawings: Create a full asset list of all fire dampers, detailing - location, ID number, type of damper and where access hatches require to be cut in ductwork. The Contractor will be expected to provide a schematic drawing in pdf format for each ventilation system, indicating the location of each damper in relation to the building fabric and noting the damper ID number. Maintenance/Testing of Dampers: Carry out the maintenance and testing of each damper on an annual basis in line with Manufacturers recommendations and appropriate British Standards. This must include as a minimum physically dropping the damper to demonstrate its effectiveness: cleaning channels and runners, applying (light) lubrication where necessary, and re-setting each damper.
