<p>The Borough Council of Bolton is seeking quotations for Prevention and Promotion Fund for Better Mental Health: Addressing Financial Insecurity and Debt 2021-2022. This fund is part of the government&rsquo;s Mental Health Recovery Action Plan 2021/22 which seeks to ensure the mental health impacts of COVID-19 are rapidly addressed, services can respond quickly and pressures on the NHS are reduced. It is also part of the government&rsquo;s levelling up agenda which seeks to restore the economy, level up the country and build back better. The cost of poor mental health to the economy has been estimated at around &pound;99 million per year, with common mental illness such as anxiety and depression the second most common cause of years lived with a disability. 1.1.5 The pandemic has exacerbated the increasing number of residents facing financial insecurity and debt, impacting on the individual&rsquo;s wellbeing and mental health. The contributing factors to financial insecurity and debt are: &bull; Unable to keep up housing/tenancy; &bull; Unemployment; &bull; Poverty (financial/food); &bull; Personal crisis and difficult events; &bull; Young people transitioning to adult life; &bull; Access to services, information and help. The project will aim to maintain and improve mental health and wellbeing for individuals experiencing financial insecurity due to the impact of the pandemic.
