FACET - initiative to turn post-consumer plastics into new plastic products

Norfolk County Council (NCC) and Great Yarmouth Borough Council (GYBC) are seeking a contractor to develop an initiative for the local collection and recycling of post-consumer plastics into plastic products. This will support the delivery of the Interreg 2 Seas project FACET (Facilitate the Adoption of Circular Entrepreneurship in the Tourism and leisure sector). It is felt that the nature of this initiative may lend itself to the development or extension of an existing social enterprise or community interest company. NCC and GYBC are looking for a contractor to work with the Great Yarmouth tourism, leisure & hospitality business community and the Borough Council, to arrange and collect post-consumer plastics for use in production. The work will take place in the following phases: Phase 1: Background research and community engagement Phase 2: Development of a business plan Phase 3: Upon approval of the business plan by GYBC and NCC, the contractor will launch a pilot scheme Additional information: This procurement will be managed electronically via the Council`s e-procurement system.
