Review of Day Support Services for Adults with Learning Disabilities in Scottish Borders

Invitation to participate in a review of day support services for adults with learning disabilities in the Scottish Borders The Scottish Borders Learning Disability Service are carrying out a review of buildings-based adult learning disability day support provision across Scottish Borders. We provide a range of opportunities for adults with learning disabilities across Scottish Borders and currently support around 70 individuals across the 5 localities of Scottish Borders within buildings-based day services. In the spring of 2021, through an external agency, we asked people who attend the buildings-based day services and their families to tell us what is important to them about day support and to give us ideas for the future. We are now ready to use this information to scope out what future support might look like and what will be possible to deliver across the Scottish Borders and are inviting you to attend an MS Teams information sharing session on Friday 10th December 10.00 am –11.30 am to find out more. At the session you will hear about the journey so far, have an opportunity to ask questions, and help us think creatively to develop specifications to meet the future needs with a view to commissioning a refreshed model of day support for adults with learning disability by Autumn 2022. A follow-up session will be held in February 2022.
