The purpose of this Early Engagement Notice is to notify the market of forthcoming procurement activity relating to the assessment of early years qualifications from overseas. The Department is looking for a provider to assess overseas early years qualifications and determine whether the holder can be considered to be a qualified member of staff within an early years setting. In order to be counted as a qualified member of staff in an early years setting, individuals must hold a qualification that is defined as full and relevant by the Department. This is assessed by mapping the content of the qualifications against the Level 2 or Level 3 early years criteria, as appropriate. The provider will then inform the qualification holder of the outcome of that assessment. Where a qualification is not assessed to be full and relevant, the provider will advise on how the holder can work towards gaining qualified status. In some cases, the provider will need to support qualification holders to provide additional evidence to help them make a fair assessment.
