Tender description
An opportunity exists, as expressed within “Together: Building a United Community” (OFMDFM) and the Reconciliation Fund Strategy (DFAT) to develop a shared community where public spaces are shared by all members of society. The Programme aims to bring about the following changes: • Existing civic spaces developed and managed in a manner that respects the rights, equality and diversity of all. The change will be reflected in how parades, flags, emblems, graffiti and other related issues impact on the public space. Engage individuals and communities not normally engaged with the Peace Process on issues of contested space. This programme will provide cross community contact opportunities to help build capacity within disengaged communities, leading to the creation of shared vision and removal of psychological barriers in local neighbourhoods. This programme will offer children and adults an opportunity to create and develop relationships and build self-esteem, some will be a means to revitalise a disenfranchised community and some will offer people a place to express themselves through a visual means. • Developing and implementing a website or interactive app profiling Annalong as a Shared Space. The local community within Annalong must be consulted and involved in developing the content of the website/app. The focus must be on Shared Spaces and the Shared History of Annalong, highlighting points of interest within the village and connect people through Shared history stories within the app. • Design and delivery of a series of workshops to build capacity within the community and demonstrate how the Community can use shared spaces to develop relationships and reduce segregation (a minimum of 6 workshops is required). • The regeneration of local choir ‘Annalong community Voices’, the choir will be used as a means to reimage Annalong. • Encourage groups to work on a cross-community basis.
