Consultancy Services to Co-ordinate and Oversee the Preparation and Implementation of the Bundorragha Catchment Rhododendron Project

Leenane Development Association CLG in partnership with the Pearl Mussel Project Ltd and Wetland Surveys Ireland Ltd have secured funding to run a community led project which aims to develop and demonstrate a rhododendron control programme for the entire Bundorragha catchment, County Mayo. This is a priority freshwater pearl mussel catchment with extensive areas of high quality peatland and upland habitats. It is envisaged that this approach will provide an example of how similar projects can be run elsewhere. LDA now seeks tenders from suitably qualified consultants to co-ordinate and oversee the preparation of the rhododendron control programme and pilot implementation. The contractor will work with local stakeholders throughout the development of the plan and oversee a full technical and administrative function, which will include the provision of specialist rhododendron advice, relevant training and materials, and GIS expertise. The assignment will be collaborative in nature and will require the successful awardee to work closely with the Leenane Development Association Please refer to the tender document provided for Instructions to Tender
