Asbestos Collection and Disposal Market Sounding Exercise

Tender description

The Council accepts asbestos materials in two separate 40yard hooklift containers as follows:-  On a pay by weight basis from members of the public. The delivery of these materials are closely monitored to ensure that each delivery is appropriately wrapped and sealed with tape before they are deposited into the container. This material is primarily bonded asbestos sheeting such as that used in the construction of garage buildings.  Materials collected by the Councils own Asbestos Removal Unit. This material is collected and removed from a variety of sources including but not limited to Domestic Households, Trade Premises, Housing association Properties, and Council Buildings. Similarly to the above, the materials are closely monitored to ensure they are appropriately packaged before being deposited. The actual composition of this waste stream though can be more varied than the Public skips, in that there can be any type of asbestos materials within this element The service required is for a contractor to collect the container, dispose of the asbestos and return the container to the Council’s Transfer Facility.
