Understanding user needs for support for innovation in social care in Wales

Why we’re doing this work: Innovation in social care is highlighted and shared in an ad hoc way in Wales. We know that it happens but rarely spreads and believe a more strategic approach to identifying, developing, sharing, adopting and adapting innovation would ultimately improve outcomes for people who work in and use social care services. We want to learn from our partners and national work to build an approach to supporting innovation in social care in Wales. The first step for this will be gaining a broad understanding of our key stakeholders and what they would value and need to support their work in social care innovation. Outputs: The aim of the work is to understand the needs of stakeholders as a foundation for building our offer of support for innovation in social care. The primary output we are looking for is a report that summarises the evidence from this work and identifies a core group of important partners and priority areas where support is most wanted. We expect the supplier to develop personas for the key stakeholder groups that we can use to communicate with a wide audience about our work. To achieve this, we want to find a supplier who can: - Develop a sampling strategy and engagement plan - Carry out engagement with stakeholders - Analyse data and information from engagement - Write a report to cover: ~ Purpose of the work ~ Sampling and engagement methods used with rationale ~ Key messages from stakeholders ~ Core stakeholders and areas where support is most needed ~ Stakeholder personas to present insights from the user research. Social Care Wales will support you with: - Identifying stakeholder groups and key contacts, with support to identify indi-vidual stakeholders - Providing background information and context - Regular contact and support through the life of the contract - Translations of materials into Welsh - Design of final materials
