Tender description

Electrical Distribution Network MaintenanceThe University of Birmingham (referred to as the "Employer" for the purposes of consistency) wishes to enter into a Commitment Contract (the "Contract") for the provision of services which will ensure that its Electrical Distribution Network ("Electrical Network") is maintained and repaired to the highest quality standards and to ensure the highest standards for the availability for use. Accordingly, the Employer is seeking competitive Tenders ("Tenders") from suitably qualified contractors ("Contractors") in response to this Invitation to Tender ("ITT") with a view to awarding a Contract to a single Contractor, for the provision of Electrical Distribution network maintenance Services ("Services") for its entire Electrical distribution network. Lot Lot 1: Comprehensive Maintenance - A number of visits to provide maintenance, inspection and certification services and any other services set out in the specification details forming Schedules 1 and 2 to the Contract ("the Specification") as being required to be provided (and which the Contractor shall be obliged to provide) under the provisions of the Contract for the Electrical distribution network set out and listed in schedule 3; and - The provision of Services to carry out repairs to the Electrical distribution network equipment as such repairs become necessary; and- The provision of a 24-hour, 7-day week, 365/6 a year emergency repair service for the Electrical distribution network as set out in the Specification, andProvide professional advice, reports and recommendations to the Employer Lot Lot 2: Full operational management of the network (Non-costed) - Additional capabilities and capacities required to provide full operational network management over and above the services detailed within Lot 1.- Additional capabilities and capacities available, to successfully and wholly manage the Universities complete Medium voltage network and equipment. - Additional resources retained or deployable, including additional Senior Authorised Persons (Multi-Point Authorised) to operate the University’s network in the event that the University were to no longer retain any Senior Authorised Persons. - Ownership of the network would however still remain with the University, and the network would be operated under a delegated responsibility.- Contractors must tender for both Lot 1 and Lot 2. Both Lots will be awarded to the same supplier. Lot 2 will be awarded and retained as a future option.
