Tender description

North Somerset Council are requesting expressions of interest for a main contractor to construct an accommodation bridge over the Congresbury Yeo River located approximately 7.6km north east of Weston-super-Mare town centre. The bridge is mitigating works to provide a river crossing for a dairy farm, allowing the existing river crossing to become a permanent route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The proposed structure is a single span steel modular panel bridge. Due to the presence of Tidal Flat Deposits, which do not provide sufficient bearing resistance for pads, piled foundations of reinforced concrete bored piles are proposed. Work on site is scheduled for commencement in summer 2021. For further details of the scheme please see the notice on Supplyingthesouthwest.org
