Summary of the work Harlow Council is seeking to appoint a supplier to design and create a new website for Harlow Museum & Walled Gardens. This will take note of corporate responsibilities whilst highlighting the culture and heritage in Harlow through the Museum & Walled Gardens, attracting more visitors and educators. Specialist role Content designer Expected Contract Length 6 months + Latest start date Monday 6 December 2021 Early Market Engagement No specific engagement Who Speclialist Work With You will work with content providers and experienced Museum team members What Specialists Work On Develop design and create content for a new website for Harlow Museum & Walled Gardens, Harlow Council is seeking to appoint a supplier. It will be the main means of communication to our audiences and so will need to feature live social media feeds and possibly blogs, and link back to Harlow Council. It must be capable of handling multiple media platforms and be highly visual. It may need to display detailed plans, and 3 D models and possibly a fly-through, links to films and videos. The website will need to speak to local and regional audiences. Skills & Experience • • The newer legal requirements international WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standard must be met. • • Experience in designing building websites in the museum and or cultural sector. Web addresses and / case studies should be provided demonstrating 3 examples of similar previous work. • • Evidence of developing realistic and sustainable way to Host and support an on-going maintenance plan to achieve the goals and aims of the website. • • Knowledge of government legislation regarding legal requirements of building websites including accessibility see: https://www.gov.uk/service-manual/helping-people-to-use-your-service/understanding-wcag • • Nice to Haves • Demonstrate that appropriate staff and resources are available with their CV’s and experience of similar delivery to deliver this commission within the expected timeframe. • Have a portfolio of similar websites Work Location Museum of Harlow Muskham Road / Off site office Working Arrangments Update meetings weekly, site visits as appropriate Security Clearance None required No. of Specialists to Evaluate 4 Cultural Fit Criteria • share knowledge and experience with other team members • can work with clients with low technical expertise • take responsibility for their work • work as a team with our organisation and other suppliers Evaluation Weighting Technical competence 40% Cultural fit 10% Price 50% Questions from Suppliers 1. And do you have a set budget for the project? The budget is 20k The council uses Drupal and Wordpress so it may be consistent to go with one of these. 6.
