Summary of the work Required to manage a technical design & delivery team. Leading a SharePoint solution development and implementation, providing technical design, system and architectural prototyping, and component development including migration of the Client's existing dataset from their current SharePoint 2010 environment to the new SharePoint 2019 environment, responsible for the migration strategy Specialist role Developer Expected Contract Length 6 months -End March 2022 (With an option for a 6 month extension) Latest start date Monday 15 November 2021 Maximum Day Rate £750 per day- 8 Hours Who Speclialist Work With You will be a key member of the System Operating Authority, overseeing the integration of a bespoke network. You will work with the delivery organisation, DE&S, on a daily basis. What Specialists Work On •Leading and managing a technical design & delivery team. •Lead SharePoint solution development, and implementation efforts, providing technical design, system and architectural prototyping, and component development. •You will be responsible for the development and lead of the migration strategy crucial in the movement of the Client's existing working dataset into a new SharePoint 2019 environment using the appropriate migration tooling. •Conducting detailed design of technical solutions. •Problem solving and providing technical lead to resolution. Full ToR to be supplied upon contract award. Skills & Experience • Leadership experience is essential as includes managing a technical design & delivery team • Responsibility for the development of (continued in point below) • the migration strategy crucial in the movement of the Client's existing working dataset into the new SharePoint 2019 environment using the appropriate migration tooling (Sharegate, PowerShell, etc.). • Significant expert experience (minimum 3-5 years) continued in point below • Implementing and supporting PowerShell, PowerShell Cmdlets, Functions and Modules, JavaScript, CSS, HTML and HTML 5 scripts on non-internet-connected secure systems in a UK Defence setting. • Experience of administrating SharePoint 2019. • Experience of migrating SharePoint using tools such as Sharegate, Metalogix Content Matrix by Quest, PowerShell • Experience of implementing and supporting IT solutions based on SharePoint 2010, 2013 or 2016 and SharePoint 2019. • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. • Ability to produce a high standard of technical and instructional documentation, such as High and Low-Level Designs, implementation plans and support documentation. • Significant expert experience (minimum 2-5 years) design, development and implementing IT solutions based on Microsoft SharePoint Server with exposure to Microsoft SharePoint Server 2019, on non-internet-connected secure systems continued below • In a UK Defence setting, with significant understanding and experience of associated technical and security policy. • 5+ years of experience building web-based systems with the Microsoft .Net technology stack employing the best practices of SOA architecture using C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net, with SQL backend databases. • Experience with implementing best practice SharePoint information architectures, workflows, and mobile applications. • Experience using full lifecycle development methodologies with web-based applications using Scrum methodology. • Experience integrating with backed operational and content management systems. • Experience working on component-based applications including web services, application integration, patterns, and data access development. • Experience in the UK Defence Sector. Nice to Haves • Understanding of the use of Desired State Configuration (DSC) to define and control the infrastructure and environment of the Client's SharePoint 2019 farms. • Knowledge or experience of using code repository such as Git. • Experience of MS SQL Server 2019 and Always on Availability Groups (AOAG) • Experience of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. • Experience of working in an ITIL environment. • Ability to organise and plan work independently. • Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities. Work Location Location in West Midlands (HR4) to be advised to successful applicant. Working Arrangments 40hrs/week (over 5 days) in person at site. Health & Safety Risks Relevant to the role: •Occasional lone working. •Occasional work in a noisy environment (server rooms). •Work must be undertaken on the customer site so there are potential COVID exposure risks. •Worker will be required to undertake COVID lateral flow tests routinely throughout the duration of the contract and comply with COVID HSW precautions.
