Project Vulcan (Ground Manouevre Synthetic Trainer)

Details

Published
5 November 2021

Tender description

A single coherent training solution across the Mechanised infantry and Armour Main Battle Tank platforms; for enhanced individual and crew synthetic training, details can be found in the Mandate. Without Vulcan, soldiers would be training on obsolescence and old equipment and then on live vehicles which will have a huge impact on cost, time & safety. The motivation for change is to; create a sustainable & re-usable simulation system, increasing the use of synthetic environments to reduce the consumption of live training resources, resolving the training gaps arising from reduced opportunities for live training, reducing the instructor training burden by making simulation easier to use and automating the measurement of performance. This business case seeks approval to place a contract with X following competition via a tendering process. Vulcan is a project that supports two Cat A Programmes
