Merthyr Tydfil Town Marketing and Communications Strategy and Delivery

In October 2020, Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council formally adopted the Merthyr Tydfil Strategy Valley Hub: Placemaking Plan 2020 – 2035. Through the delivery of the Plan a number of strategic, enterprise, digital and operational projects are being identified, developed and delivered. It is a corporate priority for the Council to communicate all of the positive news stories aligned to the delivery of the Town Centre Placemaking Plan and this commission is imperative in order for the Council to achieve maximum engagement with its stakeholders and the public. There are a wide range of projects in development and delivery, with many more planned for the coming years. This Marketing and Communications Strategy will provide the detail on how the Council can communicate key messages, share information from its stakeholders and promote the Town Centre through an identified brand and a wide range of techniques to achieve the greatest impact. It is essential that the Marketing and Communications Strategy is developed simultaneously to the implementation of the delivery plan. Early identification of key stories and messages will be required from the appointment of consultants, to ensure full engagement for the duration of the commission.
