BlueLight Commercial has been working with Police Forces to review how Selected Medical Practitioner (SMP) services are currently commissioned and managed across England and Wales. Together, we are looking at the options for the provision of a more consistent national practice, and exploring how we can build a more sustainable workforce of medical professionals to support forces in undertaking the range of medical reviews and assessments they may require for their officers and staff. We would like to gain a better understanding from the market about what is possible and will be holding a virtual market engagement event on the morning of 22nd November 2021. The event will provide an update on our work to date and our commissioning intentions going forwards. This is your opportunity to hear from the College of Policing and Forces, and to help shape the future SMP services.
