The provision of Network Services for the Creative Places Programme for the Arts Council

The Arts Council is expanding its Creative Places programme in 2021 following the setup of the pilot programme in Tuam in 2020. The Creative Places programme: • Focuses on places which have not benefited from sustained investment in the arts, with an approach that is inclusive and diverse • Is rooted in socially engaged arts practice and community development principles. • Builds on existing cultural strengths and led by community participation and ideas and supported by artists and other arts professionals • Creates new opportunities for local communities to decide, design and take part in brilliant arts experiences in the places where they live. In June 2021, eight new Creative Places awards in different parts of the country have been made, in addition to the pilot programme in Tuam. It is anticipated that the programme will grow further (in terms of the number of places involved) in the coming years. The Arts Council is seeking a networking support service, from individuals or a company, which will provide (but is not limited to) the following services:  Design and deliver a schedule of network exchanges which may include providing training, mentoring, advice and may include expert input at various points as required.  Establish a network for the Creative Places Programme which will facilitate peer support, and opportunities to exchange and learn from the variety of approaches being developed.  Develop platforms for sharing of information, knowledge, experiences, learning that will also highlight the outcomes of the Creative Places.  Develop a communication and engagement strategy which brings a national and international profile to the Arts Council’s Creative Places programme.  Provide advice to the Arts Council on the overall governance, communications, delivery and ongoing sustainability of the programme.
