This work aims to explore the environmental implications of land use changes in the Scottish uplands and what is needed to deliver successful land use change. This will be done through a limited number of scenarios applied to theoretical case studies. NatureScot is looking to commission a study to explore some land use change scenarios in the uplands, through theoretical case studies, with a view to understand what the environmental implications would be, identify risks, barriers and opportunities, and what is needed to enable successful change.
