Tender description

The Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Nuclear Protection Delivery Team (CBRN DT), from hereon in referred to as the Authority, is responsible for the procurement and support of Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) threat agent Detection, Identification and Monitoring (DIM) equipment used within the UK military. The Authority has a requirement for industry to design/enhance, develop, and manufacture the Next Generation Chemical Detection (NGCD) Chemical Sense capability for airborne hazards, (including vapour and aerosol) and deposited hazards (including liquids and solids). The initial stage of Project BOSKER identified the requirement could potentially be delivered as a ‘two system’ approach to NGCD Sense Airborne Hazard Detection equipment. The initial stage concluded that mature technologies are available from within industry as identified by the Authority’s commissioned Technology Demonstrator Programme (TDP) – “Project TITLEHOLDER”. This requirement shall be sourced via lots and the ‘two system’ approach should consist of: Lot 1 : Sensor 1: Lightweight body worn Chemical Sensor. Lot 2 : Sensor 2: Base Chemical Sensor.
