Tender description

The Marine Institute wishes to invite tenders for provision of Laboratory services within the Marine Institute’s Fish Health Unit.Marine Environment and Food Safety Services (MEFSS), a service area of the Marine Institute, provides services focused on ensuring consumer protection through seafood safety monitoring/testing services; providing monitoring services in support of protection of marine environmental legislation/obligations; and providing advisory services in support of sustainable development and management of the marine environment. A requirement exists for supply of the following Laboratory Services at the National Reference Laboratory for Fish, Shellfish and Crustacean Diseases in the Marine Institute. This service is initially required for 1 year with a possibility of extension for an additional year. Under direction of the FHU laboratory Team leads and with support from all FHU laboratory staff, we require a laboratory analyst to fulfil tasks required to support method validation work. This includes the production of validation reports and test method SOPs, to fully test, optimize and validate the required diagnostic and confirmatory methods as follows: Conventional PCR (cPCR) ) to selectively amplify diagnostic regions of the infectious salmon anaemia virus (ISAV) HPR-deleted, koi herpesvirus virus (KHV) and white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) genomes, identify isolate preparation protocols for accredited commercial suppliers of Sanger sequencing to confirm the genetic isolate present following ISAV HPR-deleted, KHV, and WSSV positive identification using cPCR, Duplex real-time qPCR method for confirmation of Bonamia ostreae and exitiosa species following detection using a cytology screening method, and to identify sample preparation protocols and accredited commercial suppliers for next generation amplicon amplicon sequencing for confirmation of the presence of Bonamia ostreae and exitiosa species and Marteilia refringens.
