Soft Market Test for Generic Advice, Debt, Welfare Benefits and Housing Advice

<p>Stockport and Trafford Councils have jointly commissioned their Information and Advice provision with Rochdale Council since 01 April 2019. This has enabled efficiencies through shared resources as well as providing opportunities to share innovation and best practice. All 3 local authorities are committed to providing high quality, welfare advice services and recognise the important role of information and advice in maximising people&rsquo;s independence and resilience. A soft market testing exercise has already been completed for the provision of a joint contract for Rochdale, Stockport and Trafford Councils in July and August 2021. There is a possibility that Rochdale Council may opt to jointly commission their Information and advice Services with Stockport and Tameside, but at the present time, we are unable to confirm this.
