Tender description

Dumfries and Galloway Council has a large amount of unused 44 litre and 55 litre black boxes and lids for sale. The boxes have ‘hot foil stamping’ branding and other information printed on them (sometimes known as ‘embossing’). The lids do not have any printing. Dumfries and Galloway Council is seeking to sell these bins and lids for reuse or closed loop recycling. If the outcome is recycling, DGC would ideally like to see the material being recycled into new recycling boxes or bins, although any closed loop recycling will be acceptable. The boxes and lids were purchased in 2012 and 2013. They are unused and were stored indoors for several years. For about the last 3 years they have been stored in their present location which is outdoors. Some picture of the boxes in their current storage location are available in the documents included. As a very rough indication of quantity, it is estimated that there may be circa 140,000 boxes (a mixture of 44 litre and 55 litre capacity boxes) and circa 100,000 lids available. It is emphasised that this is a very rough estimate and is not a guarantee of numbers available. The actual quantity could be considerably higher or lower.
