Sale of Biogas CHP Unit

Teagasc – The Agriculture and Food Development Authority is examining the potential to offer for sale a biogas CHP unit that is no longer in use at is research centre in Grange, Co. Meath. The biogas CHP unit, originally supplied by Edina, comprises a dedicated skid-mounted gas engine in a containerised (20ft) sound and weather proof enclosure. The engine is coupled to a 400V three-phase generator. Electrical power output is rated at 150kW and rated heat output is 195kW. The engine is manufactured by Liebherr and the generator by Marelli. The unit is equipped with all the necessary loading and unloading switchgear for automatic synchronisation to an ESB Network substation. After conditioning, the biogas is led to the engine through a forced induction system that also serves to pull the gas towards the engine. The equipment has not been used. Interested parties should note that this selection process is not governed by the provisions of Directive 2004/18/EC or Directive 2004/17/EC (or the Irish regulations transposing those Directives) and Teagasc – The Agriculture and Food Development Authority does not intend to follow the procedures or rules set out in those Directives/Regulations in this selection process.
